White meats

Roast chicken, turkey fillet, veal blanquette or grilled escalopes: white meats call for non-alcoholic drinks that are both delicate, nuanced and flavourful. Fine bubbles, blonde beers, dealcoholised white wines or woody infusions: the pairing possibilities are as numerous as the ways of cooking these meats gently.

Our non-alcoholic drinks with white meats

White meat, by its very nature, is tender, light and often lean. It is cooked with subtlety and pairs readily with vegetable accompaniments, light sauces or gentle spices. To echo this delicacy, alcohol-free drinks offer a subtle playground: the aim is not to overpower the meat, but to reveal it.

A great classic: dealcoholised white wine of the chardonnay or chenin type. Paired with a veal blanquette or a cream-sauced chicken supreme, these alcohol-free cuvées bring roundness and freshness. If the dish has citrus or a light kick (lemon confit chicken, mild curry turkey strips), a more taut wine or a citrus mocktail may be preferred.

A light alcohol-free red wine — of the pinot noir type — can prove a very elegant pairing with herb-roasted poultry or stuffed turkey. Its red fruit notes and supple structure support the meat without overwhelming it.

Blonde alcohol-free craft beers are also precious allies. A floral lager will pair beautifully with a roast turkey or a breaded escalope. A slightly bitter pale ale will go well with marinated skewers or a chicken tagine. And for more roasted or grilled meats, an alcohol-free amber ale will add depth without heaviness.

Infusions are not to be overlooked. An iced verbena or rooibos infusion will pair delicately with herb-seasoned chicken breast. A water infused with rosemary and lemon will enhance a dish flavoured with thyme or bay. For a more original touch, a kombucha with apple or elderflower will refresh the palate between bites.

And for those who want a festive touch, an alcohol-free sparkling wine such as a cuvée based on chardonnay or muscat will bring finesse and effervescence to a white sauce dish or a beef fillet en croûte. All with the lightness and precision that this type of dish demands.

At Gueule de Joie, we select alcohol-free drinks designed for all cooking styles. Our online shop is full of elegant alcohol-free wines, skilfully brewed lagers and amber ales, creative infusions and refined sparkling drinks. So that every bite of white meat is an opportunity for a delicate and delightful pairing.

Because moderation does not mean neutrality. And a good pairing is above all one that enhances the dish… Without ever taking centre stage.
