Alcohol-free Piña Colada

In 1954, Ramon Monchito Marrero, barman at the Hilton hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico, wanted to capture all the flavours of the island in a single glass and created the Piña Colada. This new cocktail was an immediate hit with the hotel's guests, including the legendary John Wayne.

Oyé sapapaya… Fancy joining us as we revisit this cocktail classic in an alcohol-free version?

Ingredients

  • 5 cl – Alcohol-free rum
  • 5 cl – Pineapple juice
  • 2.5 cl – Coconut cream

Preparation

This cocktail is best made in a shaker, but don't worry — an empty jam jar does the job perfectly well. If you don't have either, you can make this cocktail directly in the glass.

If you have a shaker: Pour the alcohol-free rum, pineapple juice and coconut cream directly in. Add ice cubes and shake vigorously for at least 10 seconds. The aim is to create a light foam.

If you don't have a shaker: Follow the same steps as above, directly in the glass. Mix well with a spoon. Add either crushed ice or ice cubes.
