St Bernardus
Based in Watou since 1946, in the heart of West Flanders’ hop-growing region, the St Bernardus brewery brews Belgian top-fermented abbey beers. For several decades, it produced the beers of the monks of Saint-Sixtus Abbey in Westvleteren under licence; when that agreement ended in 1992, it continued making them to the same recipes under its own name. Its Abt 12 became the brewery’s flagship beer. With Tripel 0.0, its first alcohol-free beer, the brewery makes room at its table for those who choose 0.0%.
